I am a researcher in the Human-Centred Computing Section, working in human-computer interaction and experimental psychology. My research combines experiments and interview studies of how people use interfaces with work on the methods behind such studies. In particular, I am interested in how the framing of a task shapes the way users evaluate an interface, as well as whether published findings in HCI are valid enough to reuse. My work draws on an interdisciplinary approach, integrating theories from psychology and behavioral science with the design, development, and empirical evaluation of interactive systems. I am also interested in UX research in industry, and in how research findings travel into practice.
